Egypt’s FC Masar held Mamelodi Sundowns to a 0–0 draw in their opening CAF Women’s Champions League game on Sunday, 1 November, at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia. CAF’s report published that day confirms that FUS Rabat and Cameroon’s Lekié Football Filles also drew without goals earlier, leaving every Group A club with one point.
There is a recent competitive background to the meeting: CAF recalls Masar’s 1–0 win over Sundowns in the 2024 tournament. Sundowns, champions in 2021 and 2023, were returning to the finals after missing the 2025 edition, but did not secure an opening victory.
No points advantage after the first round
All four clubs are level on points and goals scored and conceded after the opening matches. The top two from each group advance to the semi-finals under CAF’s official competition outline. Neither of the two goalless draws has secured one of those places, regardless of the clubs’ previous titles or tournament history.
