Minnesota United beat LAFC 3–1 in a match that finished in the early hours of Monday, 2 November, in Jerusalem. ESPN’s final statistics and scoring sequence show a striking contrast: LAFC attempted 22 shots, while Minnesota scored three times from only six attempts.

Pereyra scored on both sides of half-time

Joaquín Pereyra opened the scoring in the 29th minute. Cherrion Valerius added the second five minutes later after a headed pass from Kelvin Yeboah. Pereyra struck again from outside the penalty area in the 81st minute, assisted by Mauricio González, before Sergio Vásquez replied for LAFC in the 89th.

Minnesota’s three shots on target all resulted in goals in the recorded statistics. LAFC registered seven on target from their 22 attempts but scored only once. Possession was almost evenly divided, with Minnesota on 50.2% and LAFC on 49.8%. The clearest difference in this match was therefore finishing efficiency rather than time spent with the ball. The late home goal reduced the final margin after Minnesota had already established a three-goal advantage.
