Real Betis beat Málaga 2–1 after Marc Bartra scored in the 38th minute and Pablo Fornals added a second in first-half stoppage time. The hosts carried a two-goal advantage into the interval before Adrián Niño reduced the deficit after 68 minutes.

More than twenty minutes of normal time remained after Málaga’s goal, leaving an equaliser mathematically within one successful attack. The scoring record did not change again, however, and Betis finished with a one-goal victory rather than the wider advantage held at the break.
